I know its been a while since my last entry, the snow has now cleared, and in between customers I have been working hard on the new Brother PE Design 8 and exploring some of the design possibilities.

The first picture shows how you can overlap and merge designs, and together with the hole setting technique you can create some brilliant designs.

The second picture shows a photograph that I have manipulated in Paint Shop Pro to provide a background for stitch. However an ordinary photo would do - there are some samples in Version 8 for you to use.

The third picture shows the new tool button in Layout & Editing needed to create an area for designing into.

There are various methods of printing onto fabric and various products available. Click on "File & Print Set Up" and follow the instructions, then use your favourite product to print onto your fabric.

You will also need a print of the background design on paper to enable you to line it up in the embroidery hoop - see fourth picture.

Last picture - Finally the finished piece. Having completed the stitching, I decided to lay some organza over the top, stitch round the edge, and cut through to reveal the finished design.

I hope you like both these techniques. This is just a taster! - but you can produce designs like this as well. If you would like to attend my "Further Advanced Explorations" course then please contact me and I will be happy to add you name to the list.
